Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have been drawn in Group F of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where they will face Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway.
The draw was held in Santiago, Chile, ahead of the tournament scheduled to take place from 27 September to 19 October.
Nigeria secured their place at the tournament after finishing third at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Africa’s U-20 champions, South Africa, are in Group E alongside France, New Caledonia, and the United States.
Morocco, runners-up at the U-20 AFCON, face a challenging Group C with Brazil, Mexico, and Spain. Egypt will compete in Group A against hosts Chile, Japan, and New Zealand.
The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will progress to the Round of 16.
The Flying Eagles have previously reached the U-20 World Cup final twice, in 1989 and 2005, finishing as runners-up on both occasions. At the 1987 edition in Chile, they were eliminated in the group stage after losses to Brazil and Italy, and a draw with Canada.
Ghana remains the only African country to have won the tournament, achieving the feat in 2009 in Egypt.
