A 33-year-old woman from Mazowe, Zimbabwe has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after s3xually ass@ulting an 11-year-old girl while falsely claiming to conduct a “v!rginity test.” The Bindura Regional Magistrates’ Court delivered the verdict in a case that has sent shockwaves through the community.
The accused, known to the victim’s family, allegedly told the child she had been sent by her mother to perform the invasive examination. According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the assault occurred on 26 April 2025, when the woman lured the girl into a private space, inserted her fingers into her own genitals, and then violated the child.
The attack was abruptly halted when the victim’s mother walked in and confronted the assailant, who maintained she was only performing a “v!rginity test.” The mother immediately alerted authorities, leading to the woman’s arrest.
Prosecutors revealed the accused was a close family friend, deepening the betrayal felt by the traumatized family. The NPAZ condemned the crime, stating it underscores the alarming but often ignored reality of female-perpetrated s3xual violence. “This case exposes how trust is weaponized to exploit children,” the agency said, urging heightened vigilance in communities.
