Veteran actress Rita Edochie has spoken out strongly against what she describes as a rising wave of immorality and social decay, condemning the glorification of child abuse and irresponsible behaviour on social media.

In a recent Instagram post, she wrote:

“UWA MMEBI……
PEOPLE NOW DO THE UNIMAGINABLE, PUBLICLY COME BEFORE THE WORLD AND BRAG WITH THEIR SHOULDERS HIGH. HMMMMM. WHERE’S THE REMORSE?”

In her caption, she further criticised how social media often fuels the problem:

“IMMORALITY AT ITS HIGHEST PEAK.
WHEN HAS CHILD ABUSE BECOME LEGAL?
WHEN HAS KEEPING AN AFFAIR WITH UNDERAGE (LESS THAN 18) BECOME A THING TO BE PROUD OF?

THE SICKENING THING HERE IS THAT SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT EVEN HELPING MATTERS.
THEY HYPE AND TAKE SIDES WITH THIS EV!L WITH REASONS THAT ARE NEVER JUSTIFIABLE.

MAY GOD ALMIGHTY HELP THIS GENERATION.”

While she didn’t name names, her post comes days after Speed Darlington made controversial remarks online — a connection many followers believe she was indirectly addressing.
