Beloved Australian broadcaster Paris Pompor has died aged 58.
The well-known media personality was known for his time spent on the 2SER airwaves and as a DJ on Sydney’s nightclub scene.
The radio star’s cause of death has not been revealed, as of Saturday.
Pompor hosted the music program Jumping the Gap for 15 years, from 2007 to 2022, and co-founded Groovescooter – an independent record label, production house and events company based in Sydney in 1998 – with his long-time partner Georgie Zuzak.
Former Newsreader Geoff Mark Field shared a tribute to Pompor.
‘My sincere condolences to family and friends of Paris Pompor who has died aged 58,’ he wrote.
‘I remember the way he would always have something positive to say to my journalism students when I was at 2SER.
‘Paris was a beautiful man who always went out of his way to be kind.’

2SER paid tribute to Pompor in a segment on Friday night and shared some of the highlights of his radio career with listeners.
Eastside radio 89.7FM said Pompor had played a significant role in Sydney’s music scene and had an ‘indelible’ mark on the city.
‘Paris shaped so much of Sydney music and influenced the city’s arts and culture like no other,’ the radio station wrote.
‘His love of music documentaries started a movement of film screenings at the Golden Age Cinema that can best be described as all sold out!
‘The curation of underground independent films mixed with classic revivals like Stop Making Sense were enjoyed by everyone who attended and deserve to keep going by the next generation.’
Fans also shared tributes to the radio star online.
‘Totally stunned and very sad to be hearing the news that Paris Pompor has passed away. A complete and total music fan, a beautiful human and always a joy to run into around the traps or at 2SER over the years,’ Stuart Couple wrote on Facebook.
More to come.
