The leadership of Edumoga Youth Association, EYA, has called for a full investigation into the m8rder of Miss Aladi Offikwu Johnson, also known as Tessy, an indigene of Olaidu, Edumoga in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State.

Tessy was found d3ad with her hands tied behind her back in a hotel room in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja on June 16, 2025.

The group, in a statement condemning her murder in strong terms, issued by its National President, Alhaji Lucky Itodo, on Thursday, June 19, said the perpetrator should be brought to justice, and warned that the incident must not be swept under the carpet.

According to EYA President, Tessy was said to have lodged in a hotel on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, with a yet-to-be-identified man. The man was later seen leaving the premises without her.

“However, She was later discovered unconscious during a routine service check by hotel staff and was confirmed d3ad shortly after,” he said.

“This is a cruel and senseless act. The safety of young girls in Abuja is clearly under threat, and the authorities must act decisively.

“Tessy’s d3ath is not an isolated case—ritualists and cybercriminals are now turning the capital city into a hunting ground for innocent lives.

“We are tired of the bloodshed. We cannot continue to lose our daughters to these predators. The government must rise to the occasion and secure Abuja. If the capital city is no longer safe, then the entire country is at risk.”

He also urged young women to be more cautious, and to avoid meeting strangers or entering private spaces for “material reasons.”

“Hookup culture is dangerous. These situations often end in disaster, just as we’ve seen with this case,” Itodo warned.

He further called on community leaders and the public to support efforts to secure justice, while condoling with the family of the deceased.
