Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie has given birth to her fourth child with the former Prime Minister.
Mrs Johnson, 37, said they are ‘totally smitten’ with their new baby girl whom they have named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson.
She was born on Wednesday at University College London Hospital and is the couple’s fourth child.
Poppy, who Mrs Johnson says will be known as ‘Pops’ or ‘Pop Tart’, has become little sister to Wilfred, five, Romy, three, and Frank, one, who are ‘utterly delighted’ to welcome a new member of the family.
Mrs Johnson posted to Instagram this afternoon to announce Poppy’s birth alongside a series of pictures and said she is their ‘final gang member’.
The post read: ‘Welcome to the world Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson born on 21st May. Aka Pops, Pop Tart.

‘I can’t believe how pretty and tiny you are. Feel so incredibly lucky. We are all totally smitten. Not sure I’ve slept a minute since you were born as can’t stop looking at how completely lovely you are.
‘Thank you so much to the amazing maternity team at UCLH and particularly to Asma and Patrick who have looked after me so well through all my pregnancies. I really cannot thank you guys enough.
‘Wilf, Romy and Frank are utterly delighted, particularly Romy who was desperate for a little sister. Bring on the matching dresses.

Mr and Mrs Johnson announced their engagement in February 2020 and welcomed their first child, Wilfred, on April 29 that year.
The following year Mrs Johnson gave birth to Romy on December 9, and their second son Frank was born on July 5, 2023.
