Commonwealth Bank customers are being impacted by a major outage impacting the app and bank transfers.
In a statement posted to its website on Friday at 1pm, the bank said advised certain customers they may be unable to make transfers or payments.
‘We are working to fix an issue affecting transfers from your accounts,’ it said.
‘You may be unable to make transfers between your accounts or pay someone using PayID or BSB and account number in NetBank and the CommBank app.

‘You can still make payments using your card, and use ATMs.
‘Thanks for your patience. We are sorry for the inconvenience.’
When customers try to make a transfer, they get a pop up that reads: ‘Something’s gone wrong. Try again a little later.’
By 12.30pm on Friday nearly 450 people had reported a Commonwealth Bank outage on DownDetector – a website that provides real-time information on outages and disruptions.
A number of affected customers have taken to social media to vent their frustrations.
‘I was at the register at Woolies and couldn’t transfer funds from one account to the the other,’ one woman wrote on Facebook.
