Kevin Garnett and his girlfriend, Teare Candelier, were involved in a domestic dispute at their Los Angeles-area home late last month, prompting a 911 call.

Law enforcement sources confirmed that Candelier dialed 911 around 2 AM on April 27, reporting the altercation. By the time officers arrived, Garnett had already left the scene, though they still took a report. Candelier declined medical assistance after being asked by officers.

Sources familiar with the incident indicated that the altercation occurred when Garnett, attempting to defuse the situation, moved Candelier away from a doorway as he left. However, both sides clarified that the situation never escalated to physical violence.

On Sunday, May 5, Garnett and Candelier issued a joint statement expressing regret over involving law enforcement. “We deeply regret that a personal disagreement escalated and inappropriately involved authorities,” they said. “It was never our intention to involve others in a moment that should have remained private.” The couple further stated that despite occasional disagreements, their commitment to each other remains strong, and they are moving forward with a renewed sense of respect, understanding, and love.

Garnett, a 15-time NBA All-Star and four-time All-NBA First-Team selection, is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Since retiring, he has ventured into the media, most recently hosting his podcast, “KG: Certified.”
