Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team returned to court to cross-examine his former partner, referred to as “Jane,” in an attempt to portray her past involvement in alleged sexual encounters as voluntary.

On her fifth day of testimony on Wednesday, Jane clarified she felt pressured to comply in order to preserve their relationship.

“I was just adapting to my circumstances and my environment,” she testified. “I was going along with something I really didn’t feel I could say no to.”

Though Jane previously expressed love for Combs, she also admitted deep resentment: “I resent him for all of it.”

Jane confirmed Combs had paid around $40,000 to support her relocation in April 2023. She alleged this financial support was a method of control.

The prosecution also raised concerns over a potential juror’s honesty, requesting the removal of Juror No. 6 due to a reported “lack of candor.” Combs’ team pushed back, suggesting racial bias might be at play.

Combs, 55, faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and facilitating prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty. The trial is expected to conclude around July 4.

During cross-examination, Combs’ attorney Teny Geragos read text exchanges between Jane and Combs. In one emotional message, Jane referred to Combs as “my friend, my lover, my boyfriend – even though you don’t like that word.”

Geragos questioned her about her willingness to participate in a 12–18-hour “sobriety party” at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills, which allegedly involved multiple escorts. Jane admitted to agreeing but added, “I resent him for knowing how much I loved him and knowing I couldn’t say no to him.”

Jane also expressed heartbreak over Combs taking Yung Miami on a trip to Turks and Caicos shortly after allegedly forcing Jane into sexual acts on her birthday. “I was extremely heartbroken,” she said.

While Geragos showed text threads where Combs appeared to offer Jane choices, she reiterated, “I was going along with something I really didn’t feel I could say no to.” She added that gifts from Combs, including Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, were linked to her attempts to please him.

Jane stated she often asked Combs to treat her to experiences beyond hotel encounters. During a trip to Miami, he made a dinner reservation at Nobu, located in the same building as their hotel room. Whenshe requested more romantic gestures outside hotel rooms, he refused.

Geragos asked about the cost of a Bottega Veneta bag, to which Jane replied sharply, “How much does my body cost?”

Jane also testified that Combs referred to his ex-partner Cassie Ventura Fine as “one of his greatest loves” and confirmed that he wrote her love letters while high. She said that Combs and Gina frequently had public conflicts, adding to his stress.

Elsewhere in the trial, Kevin Hart made reference to Combs during the BET Awards, joking about wild afterparties and baby oil, a nod to the mogul’s public image.

Additional testimonies have accused Combs of choking, dragging, and assaulting women. Other witnesses, like former assistant Mia, described psychological manipulation and PTSD resulting from her time with Combs.

As the trial unfolds, both sides are preparing to present their final witnesses. Prosecutors expect to rest their case by June 18–20.

Combs is defended by a high-profile legal team, including attorneys Teny Geragos and Marc Agnifilo. They are supported by Nicole Westmoreland, who recently joined the defense. The team is experienced in defending against allegations of sexual misconduct.
