The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has denied confirming VDM’s arrest to BBC news nor giving any reason for his detention.
The BBC had initially reported that the spokesperson of the agency, Dele Oyewale, disclosed to them that VDM was arrested following multiple petitions against him and that he will be arraigned in court soon.
Reacting via its Instagram handles, the agency described the news as fake news.
