The explosion outside the Aria Resort and Casino comes just days after a fatal shooting shook the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday night.

A man and his wife were gunned down near the iconic Bellagio fountains in what police described as an ‘isolated incident’ involving individuals who were known to each other.

The shooting stunned both tourists and locals in the heart of the city’s bustling entertainment corridor.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said officers responded to reports of a shooting at 10:40 p.m. on the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Authorities were quick to clarify that the incident did not occur inside a casino.

In a statement, the department said: ‘It is believed that the suspect and victims knew each other, and had previously engaged in conflict over social media prior to the shooting.

‘At this time, we believe this to be an isolated incident, and a possible suspect has been identified.’

Footage believed to show the attack has since surfaced online. In the video, a man is seen in a brief verbal altercation with a woman outside the Paris Las Vegas, across from the Bellagio fountains.

Within seconds, the man pulls out a firearm and fires at least seven shots.

The woman screams: ‘Are you f***ing kidding me?!’

Video footage posted to social media also showed the Las Vegas Strip engulfed by police cars responding to the incident.

Dozens of people in the area were seen running away from the scene of the incident in terror.

The department’s homicide unit is set to provide an update at 1.45am local time on Monday.

The tragedy harks back to the 2017 mass shooting on Las Vegas’s Strip when 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire on the crowd attending the Route 91 Harvest music festival from his 32nd-floor suites in the Mandalay Bay hotel.

The shooter fired over 1,000 rounds and killed 60, additionally wounding at least 413 others.

The stampede caused by panicked people rushing out of the area brought the total number of injured people to nearly 870.

Just one hour after the shooting, Paddock was found dead in room after taking his own life.

To this day, the motive for the attack has not been officially determined.
