Geovany Quenda had plenty of Chelsea fans raving about him on Saturday night after his latest performance.
Quenda started for Portugal’s Under-21 side in their 5-0 win against Poland and was absolutely phenomenal.
The 18-year-old scored twice and also registered one assist, with his two goals both coming in the first half.
It was not only Chelsea fans who were impressed with Quenda’s performance, though. The Polish media also had a lot of good things to say after the winger’s outing. Quenda also shone against France Under-21s so is having a really bright tournament.
Chelsea fans will wish that they had Quenda in their squad right now, with the club’s Club World Cup campaign kicking off on Monday.
Chelsea failed to sign Jamie Gittens in the last transfer window and are now quite light in the wide positions.
Poland also would have loved for Quenda to be in Enzo Maresca‘s squad after what he just did to their team.
Polish website Portal i.PL claimed that Quenda was able to do whatever he wanted in his side’s 5-0 win. Elsewhere, Wpolityce described the Portuguese youngster as “extremely talented” and the “hero of the first half” after his display.
The same outlet felt that Portugal slowed down after he was taken off. Ultimately, the Polish media were impressed with what they saw from the Chelsea signing.
