Nigerian rapper and lawyer Falz stirred up heated debate on X after tweeting, “Fornication is not a sin.”
The statement immediately triggered a wave of reactions, with many users responding with scripture references and strong religious opinions. One user, @thereal_lulu26, quoted 1 Corinthians 6:18, writing:
“Flee from sexual immorality… the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.”
@ella_bosslady_ echoed the sentiment, calling it “a sin among the Ten Commandments,” while @drpenking dismissed the tweet, saying,
“You dey follow chase clout at your age.”
Some users, however, questioned the religious framing. One person wrote,
“Some group of Christian thinkers believe that two consenting individuals engaging in this behavior cannot be considered sinners. They argue it’s Paul’s law, not divine.”
Others called out what they saw as selective morality.
“Most of y’all are just certified hypocrites,” tweeted @Silvah101. “You’re out here condemning this tweet yet you indulge in it.”
Another user asked:
“Explain why it’s not a sin in two paragraphs? Oya naw.”
