London’s best dressed pups have been pictured strutting their stuff at a highly acclaimed dog show, featuring a Bridgerton theme for this year’s popular event.

The annual Greenwich dog show, first held in 2023 and hosted this year at the Old Royal Naval College on May 25, saw hundreds of owners and their beloved pets travelling from all over the country to be reviewed by a panel of expert judges.

Welcome to ‘all dogs, big and small, well-behaved or wonderfully mischievous’, the eight hour-long event marks a unique opportunity for pooches to showcase their extravagant looks while also enjoying a range of gourmet pet bakeries.

The four-legged attendees competed in categories that included ‘Waggiest Tail’, ‘Handsome Hound’, ‘Cutest Pup’, ‘Glorious Golden Oldie’ and beginner-friendly ‘Best Trick’.

This year’s brand new ‘Best Bridgerton Lookalike’ category, a nod to the Old Royal Naval College site which featured in the famous Netflix series, was bound to get heads turning and tails wagging, with some dogs pictured showcasing traditional French aristocracy wigs.

Popular Scottish television presenter Jodie McCallum, well-known for her work on ITV2 and BBC Scotland, alongside The Great, Sense & Sensibility star Charity Wakefield, helped to crown the competition’s top dogs.

Alongside the contest, both the dogs and their owners were also free to enjoy a range of exciting activities that ranged from an Urban Food Festival and Artisan Market, to arts and crafts activities and even a dog-friendly afternoon tea.

Now, sweet snaps have shown this year’s competing pups in all of their glory, with dogs of all breeds soaking up the sunshine in an array of eye-catching ‘fur-styles’ that included poufy dresses, extravagant hats and even stylish suits designed especially for the male canines.

Elsewhere, keen pet owners were also spotted embracing the 19th-century Bridgerton theme in all of its glory, with one owner seen walking alongside her Schnauzer, called Mr Darby, in a long white dress and traditional hat.

A white fur baby was seen adorning a glamorous pearl necklace, while others showcased white veils.

While some of the pups were more than keen to hit the catwalk, others seemed slightly more apprehensive, with owners pictured struggling to attach wigs to their heads, while others faced difficulty attempting to fasten fashionable bows to their young pooches.

Described as ‘an extraordinary cultural destination’, the historical site has been a popular filming location for various productions, including the hit series Bridgerton.

First released in 2020, the period drama follows the lives of the eight Bridgerton siblings as they seek to navigate London during the Regency era.

With each season focusing on a different sibling’s romantic journey, the star-studded cast features well-known names that includes Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Jonathan Bailey, and Nicola Coughlan.

The fourth instalment of the much-loved program is set to return to screens in 2026, while some reports have also suggested that Netflix could have bagged a multi-million pound investment to make both series five and series six.
