Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ose Local Government Area of the state, Nelson Olaseyinde Adepoyigi.
Adepoyigi, who is the chairman of APC in Ifon Ward 5 in Ose Local Government, was abducted along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway on Monday evening, May 12, 2025.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, May 13, said the politician was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm.
“I can confirm to you that the chairman APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road,” he said.
“At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local VGN and Nigeria Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
The PPRO urged anyone with information that could aid the rescue operation to come forward.
