A Pennsylvania mother pointed a gun at her son’s head before shooting her husband dead and then committing suicide, according to police.

Around 9.30am Saturday Upper Dublin Police responded to reports of a woman, Tonya Dupree, 57, pointing a gun at her adult son’s head outside of his job at a FedEx warehouse, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said.

Her son managed to ‘wrestle the gun away’ from his mother before she fled the scene.

Less than an hour later, at around 10.15am, officers with the Upper Merion Township Police Department conducted a welfare check at Tonya’s home in King of Prussia – about 50 minutes outside of Philadelphia.

Officers then discovered her husband Robert Dupree Sr., 62, was shot dead in his bed, Steele stated.

By 11.30am, Tonya’s deceased body was found floating in the Schuylkill River by the Philadelphia Police Department.

Multiple agencies, including the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, Upper Merion Township Police and the Upper Dublin Police are investigating the murder-suicide and attempted murder, according to the DA.

It is unclear what drove Tonya to point a gun at her son, kill her husband, or take her own life.
