The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man for armed robbery and m8rder. 

 

 

The spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 said the suspect, Aliyu Umar and his accomplice invaded the home of a 30-year-old man, Shehu Muhammad in Danbare Quarters and attacked him with a cutlass. 

 

 

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

 

“On 5th May 2025, at about 06:40 am, the Kano State Police Command received information from a resident of Danbare Quarters, Kano, that two suspected armed robbers stormed the residence of one Shehu Muhammad, a 30-year-old male and attacked him with a long sharp cutlass, inflicting multiple injuries on his body,” the statement read. 

 

“Upon receiving the report, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis immediately dispatched operational teams with detectives to the scene. The victim was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical attention, where he was pronounced d3ad by a medical doctor.

 

“One of the suspects, Aliyu Umar, a 20-year-old male, was arrested at the scene and the weapon used in the commission of the offense recovered from him.

 

“The suspect is currently helping police investigation and will face prosecution in the end.

 

“The Kano State Police Command assures the public of its commitment to maintaining law and order and bringing perpetrators to justice.
