Nigeria international, Ashleigh Plumptre has bagged her UEFA B Coaching Diploma, in preparation for a post-playing career in football management.

The 27-year-old centre-back confirmed the accomplishment via her Instagram story, proudly sharing a photo of her certificate and expressing gratitude to those who supported her journey.

“Grateful to have my UEFA B Coaching License completed,” Plumptre wrote.

“Thank you to all of those who facilitated me with my sessions both in the UK and at Al Ittihad club.”

Signed by Lucy Pearson, Director of FA Education, the certificate officially verifies that Plumptre completed the coaching qualification on March 18, 2025.

The UEFA B license enables her to coach at elite youth and semi-professional levels, which is a huge step toward a possible future on the sidelines as a manager.

Currently in her second season with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Women’s Premier League, Plumptre has been a standout performer.

She has made 13 league appearances this season — starting 11 matches, accumulating 993 minutes, and contributing three goals and four assists from her defensive position.

Internationally, Plumptre switched allegiance from England to Nigeria in 2022, quickly becoming a key player for the Super Falcons.

She featured prominently at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, helping Nigeria reach the Round of 16 with commanding performances at the back.

Although she missed Nigeria’s recent friendly fixtures against Cameroon, her absence was attributed to a long-term injury recovery.
