Chelsea have signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town but want more attacking additions for the 2025/26 Premier League season.
At present, they have several names on their radar, including Morgan Rogers, Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens.
Garnacho could be available for just £40m, with Manchester United looking to offload the 20-year-old.
As for the other Premier League attacker on Chelsea‘s shortlist, Rogers, he could cost a bit more than that.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his Substack Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Villa value Rogers at around £80m.
According to the same Substack post, the Blues have already made contact with the attacking midfielder’s agents over a potential deal, doing so over the weekend. Considering that, it does not look like Villa’s price tag has scared them off yet.
The Villans value Rogers highly after a very impressive 2024/25 campaign. In total, the Englishman scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 54 appearances.
Given his contribution, then, Villa will not want to sell Rogers this summer. Because of PSR, though, they may be forced to part ways with one or two key players in the transfer window.
Unai Emery is a fan of Nicolas Jackson, so some kind of swap deal could also be possible. But with the Midlands club needing money, they are likely to prefer straight cash.
If Chelsea do manage to reach an agreement with Villa, Enzo Maresca could use Rogers on the left or behind the striker.

Phillips has also claimed that it is likely that Rogers would be open to a move away from Villa Park, giving Chelsea even more hope of a transfer.
Like Delap, Gittens, Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and Tosin Adarabioyo, Rogers is also formerly of Manchester City’s academy.
It means that Chelsea could line up with six ex-Man City players next season if they can land Rogers and Gittens.
