Chelsea should not find it too difficult to offload one of their unwanted players this summer despite his difficult 2024/25 campaign.
When the transfer window reopens next Monday, Chelsea are going to be extremely busy, with arrivals and departures both expected.
Chelsea are likely to return for Jamie Gittens after failing to sign him this week. They could also bring in a new defender after being linked with the likes of Jorrel Hato and Jarrad Branthwaite.
As for outgoings, Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix and Armando Broja are just a few names who could depart.
Armando Broja generating interest
Chelsea could sell Broja for £20m after an injury-plagued season, where the striker was only able to make 10 Premier League appearances while out on loan at Everton.
Armando Broja’s Everton stats | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 10 | 0 | 0 |
FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Total | 11 | 0 | 0 |
Despite having a campaign to forget, though, Broja still appears to be attracting interest from multiple clubs.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed on X that Chelsea have received “several enquiries” about Broja.
The 23-year-old was not in Enzo Maresca‘s plans last term and that will not change, especially after the capture of Liam Delap.
Chelsea signed Delap from Ipswich Town in the last transfer window to bolster their options up front. Ultimately, the England Under-21 international will be the man providing competition for Nicolas Jackson, while the club could yet add Hugo Ekitike to their squad.
What Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have said about Armando Broja
In 2022, Broja signed a new six-year deal, and it looked like he would be part of Chelsea’s future. Big things were expected of the Albania international.
After Broja put pen to paper on his new contract, Todd Boehly told Chelsea’s official website: “We are delighted Armando has committed to Chelsea. He is a young and exciting striker and a big part of our plans moving forward.”
Behdad Eghbali then added: “Armando has so much talent and we are confident he can fulfil it at Chelsea. We are all looking forward to watching his development this season and beyond.”
Unfortunately for Broja, though, he has not been able to kick on at Chelsea since then, largely because of injuries. Now could be time for a fresh start, and he is likely to get that amid all of the interest in him.
