Samuel Chukwueze came off the bench to register his first Serie A assist of the season as AC Milan secured a 3-1 victory over Bologna on Friday night.

The win marked a fourth consecutive league triumph for the Rossoneri, ending Bologna’s four-game unbeaten run in the process.

It also lifted Milan to eighth place on the table with 60 points, strengthening their push for a European spot.

Chukwueze, who had not featured in Milan’s previous two matches against Venezia and Genoa, was introduced in the 65th minute in place of Alex Jimenez.

His impact was almost immediate as he brought fresh energy to Milan’s attack.

The winger delivered a well-timed assist in added time, setting up Santiago Gimenez for Milan’s third goal in the 92nd minute.

Prior to that, Gimenez had drawn Milan level in the 73rd minute after the visitors had gone behind, and Christian Pulisic completed the comeback with a goal in the 79th minute.

It was a much-needed moment of redemption for Chukwueze, who has struggled for game time.

The assist was his first in 25 Serie A appearances this season, highlighting the challenges he has faced in Italy.

Despite his limited minutes, Chukwueze showcased efficiency in his short cameo, completing five of six passes for an 83% accuracy rate and helping Milan control the final moments of the game.

The performance may offer him a timely boost in confidence ahead of Milan’s Coppa Italia final clash against Bologna on Wednesday, a rematch that carries even more significance for both clubs.
