Chelsea youngster Estevao Willian continues to provide entertainment to those tuning in to the Club World Cup this summer before he officially joins the club.
Estevao was named player of the match for the second consecutive game when Palmeiras finally got their first win on the board against Al Ahly.
Brazilian media were impressed with Estevao’s performance, as he continues to also show Chelsea fans what he’s about ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge later this summer.
While Estevao will not play for Chelsea at the Club World Cup, it won’t be long before Enzo Maresca has the opportunity to see him alongside his top quality squad, including superstar Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer praises Estevao Willian ahead of Chelsea move
The England international has remained one of the best players in world football even throughout his spell of not scoring as frequently as he would like, however he could be about to see some of the creative burden lifted off his shoulders.
Palmer has told the Mail Online that he is excited about the prospect of playing alongside the Brazil international, describing him as a ‘really good player’.
He said: “He’s a really good player. I’ve spoken to him a few times. He doesn’t speak much English, so it was a case of Google Translate, but I’ve had a few conversations with him saying I’m looking forward to seeing him and playing with him…”
The plan is for the winger to be a part of Maresca’s squad straight away, rather than be loaned out which looks to be the plan for fellow wonderkid Kendry Paez.
Estevao already idolising Cole Palmer
After finding the net in a game for the Brazilian side, Estevao copied Palmer’s iconic celebration, something he has done on occasion a number of times since.
When asked his thoughts on it, Palmer was a fan of Estevao’s celebration, with it only a matter of time before the pair pull it off together in West London.
The winger has now been in contact with a number of Chelsea players ahead of his move. Estevao said he has spoken to Moises Caicedo about the prospect of settling in to the new surroundings.
If he can follow on from the Ecuadorian’s example, there is no doubt he can become one of the most important players in the first team squad.
