Nigerian Forward, Cyriel Dessers was among the scorers as Rangers emphatically ended their six match winless streak with a dominant 4 0 victory over Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on Sunday.
Despite a goalless first half, Rangers came alive in the second period, much to the delight of their home supporters.
Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin played a pivotal role in the breakthrough, delivering a precise pass to Vaclav Cerny, who slotted home 15 minutes after the restart to open the scoring.
Raskin continued to dictate the tempo and was instrumental again just six minutes later, setting up Dessers for Rangers’ second goal.
The Nigerian striker made no mistake with the finish, taking his tally for the season to 15 goals in the Scottish Premiership placing him just behind Celtic’s Daizen Maeda and Dundee’s Simon Murray, both of whom have 16 goals.
Further strikes from Hamza Igamane and Jefte da Silva compounded Aberdeen’s woes, sealing a comprehensive win for Rangers — their first since March 29th.
Prior to the victory, the Glasgow side had endured a difficult run of form, recording three draws and one losses in their previous four league fixtures.
Dessers, 30, who arrived in Scotland from Italian outfit Cremonese, has continued to justify his signing, racking up an impressive 61 goal contributions across two seasons with Rangers.
On the international stage, Dessers has earned six caps for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, scoring twice with both goals coming in friendly games.
