Chelsea will need to shift their attention temporarily away from the Premier League in order to get the job done in the Conference League semi-finals.

The Blues will be making the trip to Sweden for the first leg against Djurgarden in a competition they were unbeaten in until the second leg of the last round against Legia Warsaw.

Enzo Maresca named a relatively strong team for that game, with Cole Palmer one of those who featured for a rare appearance at Stamford Bridge.

The competition has usually been the platform for the Chelsea boss to give a number of academy graduates a chance to appear for the first team.

The Chelsea Chronicle have predicted this is going to continue as we bring our Predicted XI for the first leg of the semi-finals of the Conference League.

Chelsea predicted XI vs Djurgarden in Conference League semi-final

Filip Jorgensen

Robert Sanchez impressed greatly against Everton last time out, however it will be a return for Filip Jorgensen in the competition he has appeared in the most since joining Chelsea.

Josh Acheampong

Josh Acheampong will maintain his place in the Conference League side after impressing greatly, particularly in the first leg, against Legia Warsaw. Maresca praised Acheampong heavily for his performance.

Tosin Adarabioyo

After sitting on the bench for the most recent Premier League game, Tosin Adarabioyo will start and bring some much-needed experience to a Chelsea side taking part in a semi-final of a European competition.

Benoit Badiashile

In place of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile will return to the starting side for the first leg. It can be expected that the Englishman will replace him at some stage, given Maresca’s recent pattern in Conference League games.

Malo Gusto

Despite being out of position, Malo Gusto will return from injury straight into the starting line-up. Chelsea do not have a recognised first team left-back in their squad other than Marc Cucurella.

Reece James

The third natural right-back in our squad, Reece James will again appear in midfield, donning the captain’s armband as he looks to help his side put one foot in a European final.

Moises Caicedo

One of the few who started against Everton to maintain his place in the side, Moises Caicedo will start in the middle of the park. Expect him to be replaced by Enzo Fernandez in an attempt to keep both players fresh for the clash with Liverpool three days later.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is starting to prove his worth in this competition in particular for Chelsea, and will continue to be given the chance to do this with another appearance in a slightly more advanced role than normal.

Jadon Sancho

Another player who is beginning to find form at the perfect time, Jadon Sancho will start in the Conference League after providing two assists in the previous round against Legia.

Tyrique George

The man of the moment will have to continue to settle for Conference League starts for now, as Tyrique George will look to build on his two recent goals.

Christopher Nkunku

Despite being in a nightmare run of form, Christopher Nkunku will keep his place in what will surely be one of his last starts in a Chelsea shirt.
