Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho are two of the most exciting young players in the Premier League.

Garnacho was not as successful as Palmer and Chelsea last season. He finished in 15th place with United, scoring just six goals along the way.

Palmer, on the other hand, managed to net 15 times and help his side secure fourth place, which earned them a Champions League spot.

Nevertheless, Garnacho is still a talented wide man who has been linked with a move to Chelsea. Garnacho is one name on Chelsea’s shortlist of winger targets.

Tony Cascarino claims Cole Palmer and Alejandro Garnacho both have egos

Looking at their stats from last season, Garnacho was nowhere near as productive as Palmer. With that in mind, Chelsea supporters will view the latter as the vastly superior attacker.

However, when it comes to ego, former Blue Tony Cascarino has put them on the same level, though he believes Palmer displays his egotism in the right way.

When asked about Garnacho’s attitude on talkSPORT, the 62-year-old said: “You look at Cole Palmer, I mean he’s got an ego but in a good way. He really is an incredibly confident boy, really confident. Garnacho’s similar, but he [Palmer] doesn’t seem as outspoken. He seems more laid-back.”

Garnacho’s attitude was questioned on more than one occasion last season. The Argentina international drew attention with comments he made after being left on the bench for United’s Europa League final loss against Tottenham Hotspur.

Garnacho also headed straight down the tunnel after being substituted in one game, something Ruben Amorim was not happy about.

Why Chelsea could be about to cool their interest in Alejandro Garnacho

Chelsea are working hard to sign Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund in time for the Club World Cup.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s next bid for Gittens is imminent. It is good news for Enzo Maresca, who needs a new left winger after confirmation of Jadon Sancho’s departure.

However, it is not a positive development for Garnacho if he is hoping to join Chelsea this summer. If Chelsea can get Gittens through the door, then they may decide that Garnacho is no longer needed.
