Newcastle United have enjoyed major success by raiding Chelsea for both Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall across recent years, and now they’re linked with Blues star Noni Madueke.
Since Noni Madueke joined Chelsea in January 2023, he’s developed into an important player under various managers.
The 23-year-old left-footed winger did make a significant impact last season under Enzo Maresca, scoring 11 goals across all competitions for the Blues. He’s now a regular in England’s senior squad, too.

It’s been suggested Chelsea feel Madueke’s progress has stalled, so his future may be up in the air this summer. Therefore, fresh speculation that indicates Newcastle have made a move for the English winger is very intriguing.
According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle have enquired about possibly signing Chelsea’s Madueke this summer.
It is explained that it is ‘unlikely’ the wide man will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge, where he’s still currently under contract until 2030. This hasn’t stopped the Blues’ Premier League rivals asking for information about the player, though.
The report adds that Chelsea could be open to starting conversations about Madueke for a fee in the region of €60m (£50m). However, Newcastle currently value him closer to €40-42m (£33-35m).
Eddie Howe’s side would like to lowball Chelsea to get Madueke for a bargain fee, but it sounds like a lot would need to change for this transfer to actually take place, as they are at least £15m apart on their valuations.
Reports in March claimed that Madueke is happy staying at Chelsea despite the fact he has Newcastle, Aston Villa and Tottenham as transfer suitors.
There is no doubt that he offers a lot to Maresca’s squad, especially because he’s shown he can play left wing as well as his preferred right wing position. It feels like he can still go up a few more gears in his game, though.
Peter Crouch called Madueke “unplayable at times” because he’s a huge fan of his, but Chelsea fans need to see him at his best much more regularly next season.
Estevao Willian could be a problem for Noni Madueke
Chelsea could be in a situation next season where Madueke, Pedro Neto and Estevao Willian all want to start on the right wing. If that happens, there would need to be plenty of rotation, and individuals would have to accept being out of position at times.
Madueke doesn’t really enjoy playing on the left flank, which is a role he filled towards the final weeks of last season.
We think that Estevao’s arrival next season could shake everything up.
While it may take a bit of time for the 18-year-old sensation to get to grips with his new home, there is a chance he hits the ground running before the Brazil international is a potential superstar.
Madueke and Neto battled well against each other in the wide areas last season, but the introduction of wonderkid Estevao brings a level of uncertainty for both.
