Chelsea’s newest number nine is in line to make his debut for the club as the Blues make their final preparations before getting their Club World Cup campaign underway.
Liam Delap is expected to feature for the Blues up against LAFC, where they will be reunited with one of their former strikers in Olivier Giroud.
Giroud has already praised Delap ahead of his debut, and there is clearly a confidence from the club that the Englishman can be the one to solve their striking woes from the last few campaigns.
Delap impressed those at Chelsea when he began training at Cobham before he was required to, as he looks to get up to speed with a brand new bunch of teammates.

Those players have already left an impression on the striker, with Delap telling the official Chelsea website that the quality on display has left him in awe.
He said: “Everyone has impressed me. The quality is so high. Obviously we have just got off the plane so it wasn’t too much of a blow and it is only my first few sessions so we will see [who ends up impressing the most].
“It is really good [to be here],’ he said. ‘As a new player, it is so important to learn and be around the boys, developing those relationships, because it is a new club. Coming out here, it is really good to get close with everyone.”
The Englishman already has a strong relationship with Cole Palmer after their time together at Manchester City, whereas Delap praised Levi Colwill when he joined after plenty of battles between each other at youth team level.
Nicolas Jackson’s status amid Delap signing
Despite back-to-back double digit campaigns for Nicolas Jackson in the Premier League, even Enzo Maresca admitted Chelsea needed a new striker before the transfer window got underway.
It has been reported that Jackson is unhappy at the club amid having more competition for his place, with it remaining to be seen if Chelsea add another forward to their ranks.
It has even been claimed that Chelsea could move for Victor Osimhen late in the window, sending Jackson to Galatasaray in the process.
Both will be hungry to get their personal Club World Cup campaigns up and running in style to try and convince Enzo Maresca that they should be the starting striker going forwards.
