Pedro Neto has delivered high praise on a Chelsea teammate who’s not been a regular starter this season.

The Chelsea squad has been extremely competitive during the 2024/25 campaign, so there are some Blues stars that have perhaps played less than they would have liked.

For Pedro Neto, 25, it’s been a decent debut year for him at Stamford Bridge. The winger should be happy with six goals and nine assists in 44 matches across all competitions, and the most important thing is he’s stayed free of injuries despite some struggles with fitness at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Tony Cascarino’s assessment of Pedro Neto is that the “gifted” Chelsea attacker can go to another level if he finds more consistency.

Pedro Neto applauds ‘important’ Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Neto has just spoken very highly of Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall during a recent interview.

In particular, he claimed that the 26-year-old star as been “important” to the team’s success in Europe this season.

When discussing Blues teammate Dewsbury-Hall, Neto told UEFA’s YouTube channel: “He has the opportunity to play in the Conference League and is doing really well. He has been an important player for us in this competition, so we are happy for him. Even in the last game, he scored a goal as well, and he’s been doing really great.”

Competition Appearances (Starts) Goals Assists
Premier League 13 (2) 0 1
Conference League 12 (11) 4 2
Conference League qualifiers 2 (2) 0 0
Carabao Cup 2 (2) 0 0
FA Cup 1 (1) 0 0
Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall across all competitions in the 2024/25 season

As you can see above, Dewsbury-Hall has only started 18 matches across all competitions this season during his first year with the club. He’s played a really significant role in the Conference League run, though.

When the Blues face Real Betis on Wednesday night in the Conference League final, it would be extremely cruel if Dewsbury-Hall misses out on a place in the starting XI.

Jason Cundy thinks Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has grown into the Chelsea shirt as the season has progressed.

Ultimately, the versatile central midfielder, who is sometimes pushed into more attacking positions, can’t find a route into Chelsea’s best line-up regardless of how well he plays when he gets the chance. It’s certainly not an easy task when he’s competing with teammates such as Enzo Fernandez, Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia for a starting position.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could push to leave Chelsea

Dewsbury-Hall has been an important part of Chelsea’s squad this season because he’s looked good whenever called upon, but he can’t be happy sitting on the bench in all the big games as he enters the prime years of his career.

Recent reports claimed that Kieran Dewsbury-Hall could push to leave Chelsea this summer amid transfer interest from Everton.

We certainly wouldn’t blame the Englishman for actively pursuing a change in the summer after only one year in West London.

It would be great for Dewsbury-Hall to win a European trophy on Wednesday night and find regular first-team football at a rival Premier League club next season.
