While Chelsea fans may enjoy transfer rumours linking them to some marquee names, one Blues player in particular must be worried with the speculation.
As the summer transfer window slowly creeps up, the Blues are linked with so many potential signings.
Apparently, Chelsea are targeting four key positions to make signings and strengthen ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, 24, and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, 22, are some eye-catching profiles linked with possible moves to Stamford Bridge. While both are versatile talents that can play anywhere across the frontline, they often do a lot of damage cutting infield from the left wing.
Chelsea are considering a bid for Rodrygo as they continue discussions with the talented winger’s camp. Without a doubt, the Real Madrid attacker would be the type of statement signing that would raise the eyebrows of some rival clubs.
Meanwhile, Chelsea hope Aston Villa may sell Morgan Rogers as they monitor him. The talented England international has been nominated for the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season, along with Blues star Cole Palmer, after an excellent campaign at Villa Park.
Tyrique George should be anxious about transfer rumours
If Chelsea add a huge name like Rodrygo or Rogers to their squad next season, it will only crank up the competition for places in the squad. Of course, that is a good thing if the club wants to get back to the top.
However, Blues youngster Tyrique George might not be reading the transfer speculation with the same enthusiasm as the fanbase.
The 19-year-old winger could find it a lot more difficult to play regularly if Rodrygo or Rogers joins.
For George, it’s been an excellent breakout season for him this year. He’s gone from the Chelsea academy to the first-team squad, where he’s contributed to Enzo Maresca’s group.

It’s quite telling that the teenager started Chelsea’s gigantic win against Manchester United last Friday in the Premier League, which keeps them in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
Blues co-director of recruitment and talent Joe Shields massively supports Tyrique George. It’s obvious that head coach Maresca has shown a lot of faith in him in recent months, too.
There must be a fear that the left-winger could fall down the pecking order if the club splashes the cash on some attacking signings, though.
Loan move could make sense for Tyrique George
If Chelsea look stacked in the forward positions going into next season, we wouldn’t be against the idea of sending George out on loan for the first time in his career.
During a recent interview, Tyrique George shared his long-term goal is to continue playing as much football as possible, whether that’s with the Blues or somewhere else.
It’s a huge learning experience to be with the first-team group on a day-to-day basis, but it would be great to see him post 30-plus appearances next season. The club’s transfer activity may have a direct impact on whether that’s possible, though.
If you look at the success of someone like Andrey Santos out on loan at Strasbourg this season, Chelsea’s players shouldn’t be against a temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge to improve their levels.
