Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens could find it hard to turn down a move to Chelsea this summer.

Gittens is a top target for Chelsea, who have seemingly made their move to sign the 20-year-old.

The Blues are after a new wide man, with the futures of Jadon Sancho and Mykhailo Mudryk uncertain. The former is only at Chelsea on loan but could end up staying in west London.

However, Sancho must first agree to a new contract if Chelsea are to sign him from Manchester United permanently.

Jamie Gittens was in Chelsea’s academy

Last month, it was claimed that Chelsea felt a £30m deal for Gittens was possible, but it looks like they may have to pay a lot more than that to land the English youngster.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are in talks with Dortmund to sign Gittens in a potential £50m transfer.

The Blues snapping up Gittens would see the England U21 international make a return to them after he spent time in their academy as a child.

That Chelsea connection and his potential would make him an arrival that loads of supporters are likely to welcome.

He has impressed for Dortmund this season, scoring 12 goals in 48 appearances. Still just 20 years of age, the Chelsea coaching staff and scouting department will have confidence that Gittens can develop into an exceptional attacking player.

Chelsea’s new-look attack at Club World Cup

The same Telegraph report claims that Chelsea want Gittens in before the Club World Cup starts this month.

With Chelsea also set to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, it means Enzo Maresca could be about to unleash a brand new attack in America.

Chelsea already had a very young and exciting team, but the Blues clearly want more youthfulness and excitement as they target both Delap and Gittens, who will add that.

It is not even July yet, but because of this transfer window for the Club World Cup, Chelsea are already making very impressive moves in the market.
