Umar Sadiq’s resurgence at Valencia has caught the eye of an unnamed Qatari club, who are now prepared to table a €30 million offer for the Nigerian forward in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sadiq endured a difficult first half of the season at Sociedad, where limited playing time and form saw him drop down the pecking order. Seeking more minutes, he joined Valencia in January, and the move has revitalised his campaign.

The 28-year-old’s arrival in Valencia has seen him contribute six goals in 16 appearances, reestablishing himself as a reliable forward.

According to Que!, the Qatari club is not only willing to spend big on a transfer fee but also ready to offer the Nigerian international a lucrative contract.

However, any move for the striker hinges on Valencia’s next decision.

Valencia currently hold a purchase option in Sadiq’s loan agreement and are reportedly inclined to activate it.

To make the move permanent, the club would need to pay €9.5 million to Real Sociedad an amount structured to be paid in installments over three years.

However, should Valencia finalise the deal and then sell him to the Qatari suitor, they could potentially pocket a profit of around €20 million.

With other quality options in attack, including Rafa Mir and Hugo Duro, the club could be tempted to cash in, especially given their financial constraints.

Despite this potential windfall, Valencia may still hesitate due to Sadiq’s wages. The forward reportedly earns €2.5 million net per year, which exceeds Valencia’s salary structure.

The club’s wage cap currently stands between €2-3 million gross annually, making it unlikely they would break their limits for a player not considered a marquee signing.
