Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah had a turbulent time last season, and now he’s linked with a potential exit in the summer transfer window.
Trevoh Chalobah, who’s a product of the Chelsea academy, was allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan last summer.
Chalobah was left off Chelsea’s pre-season tour in 2024, and that led to him joining Premier League rivals Crystal Palace on loan. However, the Blues recalled the 25-year-old defender in the January window.
Chalobah was Chelsea’s best player in 2025 during the second half of last season, stepping into Enzo Maresca’s group to improve the backline. As a result, the centre-back recently received his maiden England call-up from Thomas Tuchel to the senior squad.

Chelsea will allow Trevoh Chalobah to leave after new signing comes in
Journalist Simon Phillips reports via Substack that Chelsea are expected to let Chalobah leave the club once they sign a new central defender or two.
He explains that Premier League side Bournemouth are the latest club to show a ‘keen interest’ in signing the Blues centre-half.
Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, 30, enjoyed a superb loan last season at Bournemouth. Apparently, Bournemouth would like to re-sign Kepa from Chelsea, and he would be prepared to take a wage cut to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side are now looking at Chalobah as well. On paper, he could be a decent replacement for Dean Huijsen after the Cherries sold the young centre-half to Real Madrid.
Chelsea linked with Ajax defender Jorrel Hato
If the reports above are true, Chelsea will need to add a new defensive option before Chalobah leaves.
Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, 19, has been linked with a potential move to West London in the summer transfer window.
It’s been reported that Hato is a ‘top target’ for Chelsea as they focus on winning the race to sign the £42m-rated star ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United. Apparently, the Blues will begin imminent discussions about the versatile defender, who can cover centre-half or left-back.
While many fans would argue the club should be bringing in experience and leadership to the heart of defence, it looks like they are sticking with their transfer policy of recruiting youngsters.
