If anyone is hoping to sign Enzo Fernandez or Moises Caicedo from Chelsea this summer, then they can forget about it.

It was recently claimed that Fernandez had actually been offered to Real Madrid. As for Caicedo, the 23-year-old is thought to be attracting interest from Saudi Arabia.

Last month, it emerged that Al-Nassr have added Caicedo to their transfer shortlist after an impressive season in west London.

But given how highly Chelsea rate both players, it does not look like the South American duo will be going anywhere.

Chelsea believe Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are ‘elite’

Possessing Fernandez and Caicedo, Chelsea think they have one of the best midfields in the world, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Amid the speculation linking the former with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Romano discussed the Blues’ engine room on his YouTube channel.

“They believe that Enzo, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer… the quality in the midfield for Chelsea is elite,” the Italian journalist said.

“They believe this is one of the best midfields for the present and future in Europe, so Chelsea have no intention to entertain discussions for Enzo Fernandez.”

Caicedo has started at right-back recently, allowing Romeo Lavia to come into the team. However, Caicedo has struck up a partnership with Fernandez, something the Ecuadorian recently spoke about.

He and his teammates have a huge game coming up, so Enzo Maresca may start him in his usual position.

Chelsea travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest in a tie that is likely to decide whether they play in the Champions League or not next season.

Enzo Fernandez snubbed for Team of the Season

Fernandez’s game has really changed under Maresca. The Argentine is getting forward more and causing real problems for the opposition.

It took him less than five minutes to score against Liverpool in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over the Premier League champions at the start of the month.

In total, the World Cup winner has come up with 13 goal contributions in 35 top-flight outings, which is quite good for a central midfielder. But it has not been enough to get Fernandez nominated for the Premier League Fan Team of the Season.

Caicedo, Palmer and Marc Cucurella, however, were shortlisted and will make the XI if they get enough votes from fans across the world.
