Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted 76-year-old retired Major of the Nigeria Army, Pastor Josiah Ajayi, in Kogi State.
Ajayi, a former Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Kabba-Bunu chapter, was abducted from his residence in Odo-Ape, an agrarian community along the busy Kabba-Obajana-Lokoja highway.
According to reports, the kidnapping occurred around 11:30pm. on Wednesday, 21 May, 2025.
It was gathered that the gunmen fired shots for over an hour before whisking the retired army officer away to an unknown destination.
The abductors were yet to make contact at the time of this report.
The incident has sparked concern in the community, with many calling for increased security measures.
