The future of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is looking uncertain after the Blues completed and reported desired business for the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already brought in Liam Delap, and by handing him the number nine shirt they are putting a lot of pressure on him to deliver the goods at Stamford Bridge.

Jackson is unhappy at Chelsea already, and with the club continuing to be linked with a move for another new striker, the Senegal international will only be more concerned with his status in West London.

Chelsea would surely rather not sell Jackson, with him hitting double digits in the Premier League for two consecutive seasons despite injuries.

Chelsea ‘waiting’ to sell Nicolas Jackson and sign Victor Osimhen

Over the past few years, Victor Osimhen has continued to crop up as a name the club are interested in, with him still looking for a move away from Napoli this summer.

Gabby Agbonlahor told Chelsea to replace Jackson with Osimhen, and now the deal is being tipped to happen later in the transfer window.

Journalist Serdar Ali Çelikler stated that he believes a deal will be done in August for the Nigeria international, freeing up Galatasaray to push forward with interest from Jackson.

He said: “They are also waiting for Osimhen. I think they will wait until August. Osimhen is not in a hurry and is waiting for a move from England. What I heard is that if Chelsea gets Osimhen, Galatasaray will also get Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea. I am saying this now. He is a player I like very much. He had a good season this year.”

Osimhen spent last season at Galatasaray on loan, firing them to the Super Lig title and a decent run in the Europa League.

Chelsea’s current Victor Osimhen status

At this stage, it feels as if Osimhen’s salary demands are going to have to come down before the Blues return to the negotiation table with him.

John Obi Mikel has been an advocate for Chelsea signing Osimhen for years now, as he believes they need an elite striker to fire them to the top of the table.

Mikel has also been critical of Jackson’s performances, however the Chelsea legend admitted the deal was unlikely at this stage following Delap’s signing.

Another striker is not off the table though. Hugo Ekitike is being linked to Stamford Bridge, although Eintracht Frankfurt are holding out for an extortionate fee to part ways with him this summer.
