Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a triple raid on Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Chelsea could enter the market for a goalkeeper, defender, winger and striker once the transfer window opens.

Dortmund could provide Enzo Maresca with players in two of those positions, with shot-stopper Gregor Kobel reportedly in talks with the Blues.

On Monday, it was claimed that Kobel has held discussions with Chelsea, but he is not the only Dortmund star on Maresca’s radar.

Chelsea interested in Gregor Kobel, Jamie Gittens and Karim Adeyemi

As well as Kobel, Chelsea are also interested in teammates Jamie Gittens and Karim Adeyemi.

According to Bild, Kobel, Gittens and Adeyemi have all caught the Blues’ attention going into the summer transfer window.

It is not the first time that the trio have been linked to Stamford Bridge. In fact, last week, it was reported that Chelsea are ready to double Gittens’ wages in their bid to bring him to west London.

While the above names could be heading to Chelsea, one player could leave the Blues for Dortmund.

Carney Chukwuemeka is already at the German club on loan, and it looks like they are keen to keep hold of him.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund want Chukwuemeka to play for them again next season.

Chelsea and Dortmund, then, could be about to do a lot of business with each other in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea should prioritise signing Jamie Gittens out of trio

You can see why Chelsea would be interested in signing Kobel this summer. Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have not fully convinced between the sticks in the current campaign.

If Chelsea can only sign one out of Kobel, Gittens and Adeyemi, though, then it should be Gittens.

Still just 20 years of age and based on what he has shown this season, the English youngster has the most potential out of the lot.

In 45 appearances, Gittens has scored 12 goals and provided three assists, with the winger even managing to score against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

It is not the worst return for a young attacker who is still growing and developing. What really stands out about Gittens, though, is his dribbling.

Jamie Gittens’ 2024/25 stats Appearances Goals Assists
Bundesliga 29 8 3
Champions League 14 4 0
DFB-Pokal 2 0 0
Total 45 12 3

For example, as per FBref, Gittens is in the 99th percentile for successful take-ons among attacking midfielders and wingers, completing 3.66 per 90.

As of now, Chelsea are the favourites to sign Gittens, and he could be a really exciting addition at Stamford Bridge if the Blues manage to get a deal over the line this summer.
