Barcelona star, Lamine Yamal, has expressed doubts about his chances of winning this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

Yamal played a key role in Barcelona’s successful 2024/25 season, helping the club win a domestic treble—La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Supercopa de España.

In an interview with El Partidazo de COPE, the Spanish international admitted that winning the Ballon d’Or remains a distant dream unless he also secures both the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup.

“I don’t think about it. You get into trouble when you start thinking about winning the Ballon d’Or,” Yamal said.

“The focus should be on playing well and winning. If I win the Champions League and the World Cup next year, maybe then it will come. It’s all about enjoying the journey and letting things happen naturally.”
