Chelsea are not giving up on signing AC Milan star Mike Maignan despite already having an array of goalkeepers at the club.

It has been reported that Chelsea have had one bid for Maignan turned down, but it looks like they are set to return with another one.

Maignan is interested in joining Chelsea this summer so may be able to force a move to Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old is out of contract in 2026, so Milan are at risk of losing him for nothing if they do not sanction a sale right now.

Chelsea set to make fresh offer for Mike Maignan early next week

It will not be too long before Chelsea launch their next bid for Maignan, according to one journalist.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato has just claimed on X that Chelsea will make another offer for Maignan next Monday or Tuesday after having their first proposal rejected. Longo has described Chelsea’s imminent offer as “make or break”.

Robert Sanchez will be hoping that the club’s next bid is also turned down if it is sent to Milan, with the 27-year-old currently sweating on his place.

Maignan arriving at Chelsea would see Sanchez lose his status as first-choice goalkeeper and possibly his spot in Enzo Maresca‘s squad.

The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that Chelsea have already offered Sanchez to West Ham United in their bid to sign Mohammed Kudus, suggesting that the Spaniard is available.

Frank Leboeuf backs Chelsea move for Maignan

While Sanchez will not be too pleased to see Maignan arrive at Stamford Bridge, former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf would be delighted to see his compatriot join Maresca’s side.

When Leboeuf discussed Chelsea’s interest in Maignan during the week, he said: “If they decide to go for Mike, that is a very good decision because the guy is a real good goalkeeper… I think he will be very useful to Chelsea.”

It has been a productive start to the summer for Chelsea, with the club having already managed to bring in Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

They had to see off competition from several sides, including Manchester United, to sign the England U21 international.
