A stabbing attack has locked down parts of the Sydney CBD and left three people in hospital.

Sections of Goulburn Street and Pitt Street in the city remain in lockdown with a police presence at the two active crime scenes.

It is understood a large fight broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning outside the Civic Hotel, with two men also under police guard in hospital. 

There are reports a pair of scissors was used during the wild 4am brawl.

One male and one female aged in their 20s have been transported to St Vincent’s Hospital while another male aged in his 20s was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
