Chelsea have been described as being in pole position to sign the player they are targeting the hardest this summer.

Transfer news is spreading quickly since the window opened, with it believed that they are hoping to strengthen as soon as possible to give the best possible platform for Enzo Maresca to succeed.

The attack is now the clear priority as far as the Blues are concerned, after securing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.

A new winger has been mentioned as the top target, with one player in particular who enjoyed a strong showing at Stamford Bridge last season who has been linked with a move.

Chelsea are reportedly really keen on a deal for Michael Olise, who found the net at Stamford Bridge late last year.

Chelsea favourites to sign Michael Olise

While a number of top clubs are being linked with a move, Matt Law told ‘London is Blue’ that he believes the Blues are the favourites to secure a deal.

He said: “I think at the moment I’d have Chelsea as favourites! Chelsea, Newcastle, and Bayern have all been given permission to speak to him. All went to Palace first, and they are being grown up about it and allowing clubs to start talks with him.”

It has been reported that the club have him right at the top of the list in terms of targets for this summer, and that perhaps leans in to what is known about Maresca’s style of play.

Noni Madueke impressed late last season

During his time at Leicester, his side were known for the strength of their wingers, and this role could need addressing if they are to do the same at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the fact Noni Madueke had a very strong end to last season, there are no doubt some supporters who feel the need to strengthen the position if it’s going to be one of the most important one on the pitch next season.

Based on last season, there are no better options out there than Olise right now.
