However, she revealed their 15-year romance is still going strong because they make sure to prioritise ‘us time’.

She said: ‘Frank and I always make time for each other, which feels really special. We love getting dressed up, going somewhere nice and having a proper laugh. I still get excited about doing that.’

‘We’ll go out for some food, but if it’s in the evening, we’ll be back at a decent time because we know we’ll get woken up at the crack of dawn by work or a small child.

‘I’m just as happy going out with Frank as I am going out with a gang of girls. I like a sneaky lunch so I can be back early and avoid a hangover.

‘If I knew I could stay in bed and sleep the next day after a night out, fine, but I can’t.’

Christine also discussed how Frank still longs for his mother Patricia, who died aged 58 in 2008, and who they named their daughter after.

She said: ‘There are still moments where losing his mum takes Frank’s breath away, and he can’t quite believe its been so long.’

She added: ‘I didn’t get to meet Frank’s mum but there’s a lovely picture of her in our house and even though the kids are really young, they know exactly who she is.’

‘It was a very emotional day when I asked Frank ‘Why don’t we call our daughter Patricia?’ I think he was overwhelmed. I look at her now and she’s nothing else but Patricia.’

The interview comes after the footballer paid tribute to his late mother Pat in his wedding speech in 2015 as he explained that she would have loved his new wife Christine, according to The Mirror.

Pat, who was 58 when she lost her battle with pneumonia, passed away one year before the football manager met television personality Christine in 2009.

A guest at the Knightsbridge wedding in London at the time told the publication: ‘Frank was basically saying it was the best day of his life and he wished his mum had been there to see it.’

‘He said his mum would have loved Christine too if they had met and he got very choked up.’

Frank and Christine married after a four-year engagement at St Paul’s Church in front of friends, family and celebrity guests that included TV presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

One person was missing though, and having once described himself as a ‘mummy’s boy’, for Frank, the wedding was no doubt bitter-sweet.

Frank previously spent seven years with Elen Rivas, with whom he has two daughters, Luna and Isla before they decided to split in 2009.

The footballer was introduced to Christine at The Pride Of Britain Awards by fellow television presenter Piers Morgan, another guest tasked with saying a few words at the A-list bash, and also the first star to reveal Frank’s tears on the big day.

She told Woman & Home Magazine: 'There are still moments where losing his mum takes Frank's breath away' before adding that it was a 'very emotional day' when she asked Frank  'why don't we call our daughter Patricia?'

Piers recalled the meeting, saying on live television after the wedding: ‘Christine came into the bar and Frank said, ‘Who’s that? She looks a bit of a sort’, which I think is East End for ‘She’s attractive.’ I said, ‘She’s way above your league mate’.’

The broadcaster also revealed how Frank had spoken about falling madly in love with Christine during his wedding day speech.

He continued: ‘Anyway, next thing, they get together, he said in his speech, he was away playing for England and they spoke every night for four hours and just fell madly in love in one week.’
