The much-awaited Prison Break reboot series is finally making progress at Hulu.
Executive producer Marty Adelstein has provided an encouraging update on the series several months after the reboot was first announced in 2023.
Last November, it was revealed that a Prison Break reboot was in development for Hulu, but since then, there has been a dearth of updates on the series.
In a recent conversation with Deadline, Adelstein shed some light on the development status of the reboot series.
He also praised the script for the first episode and indicated that the project is moving forward smoothly.
Adelstein said, “It’s going really well. The first script was really, really well done. They’ve given notes and it looks like it’s on its way.”
Plot details for the Prison Break reboot are tightly under wraps but the new series is reportedly set in the same universe and will tell a “new chapter.” In the Prison Break saga with a fresh cast.
Wentworth Miller is unlikely to return for the series, as he stated in 2020 that he is done with playing straight characters like Michael Scofield.
Elgin James, co-creator and showrunner of Mayans M.C. is set to write the new Prison Break series.
He will also serve as an executive producer alongside “Prison Break” creator Paul Scheuring and original show executive producers Marty Adelstein, Dawn Olmstead, and Neal Moritz.
Hulu’s Prison Break series doesn’t yet have a release date.
