TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has been left a little shocked by what he’s just heard about one Chelsea player.
It’s been a frantic summer so far at Chelsea, which has included plenty of incomings and outgoings in the transfer window.
In terms of sales, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson have all left Stamford Bridge in recent weeks. In an interview with NUFC TV, Hall explained his struggles at Newcastle last season, but he’s now turned his loan move at St James’ Park into a permanent one.
Jamie O’Hara shocked Trevoh Chalobah may be sold
The future of Trevoh Chalobah at Chelsea, 25, is looking pretty bleak after he was left off the club’s pre-season tour this summer. If it’s any consolation to the defender, Chelsea fans are furious at Chalobah’s pre-season omission.
TalkSPORT claims that Chelsea are willing to sell academy graduate Chalobah this summer. Meanwhile, The Telegraph previously reported that the Blues will demand £25m for Chalobah’s sale.
Jamie O’Hara can’t quite believe the latest saga that’s unfolding at the Bridge.
When discussing Chelsea potentially selling Chalobah, O’Hara said on talkSPORT (8:51 am, 23 July): “Unbelievable. He was really good for them at the end of last season.”
Chelsea could soon be facing another Marc Guehi example
Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi, 24, has gone on to achieve great things since leaving Chelsea permanently in 2021. It’ll actually be no surprise if Chalobah follows in his footsteps, too.
When fit, Chalobah has proven himself to be an extremely reliable player in Chelsea’s first-team squad across 80 appearances.
The central defender, who can also cover comfortably at right-back, helped steady the ship last season towards the back end.
It’s a real shame that it doesn’t look like he’ll be part of the new Enzo Maresca era at Chelsea.
