Longtime MrBeast co-host Ava Kris Tyson has officially left the popular YouTube team following the recent allegations of sending inappropriate messages to a minor.
Accusations publicly broke out on July 21 claiming that Tyson had sent inappropriate messages to a minor in the past, which the minor in question (X/LavaGS) denied in a post.
The minor, who is now 20 years old, labelled the initial accusations as “massive lies” that were “twisting the truth.”
Lava continued: “Ava never did anything wrong and just made a few edgy jokes.”
“I was never exploited or taken advantage of,” Lava added.
Since the initial accusation, additional claims surfaced of Tyson’s predatory behaviour.
Now, after days of various accusations and pieces of evidence being exposed to the public, Tyson has issued a full statement on X as well as parted ways with the MrBeast team.
“I would like to apologize for any of my past behavior or comments if it hurt or offended anyone,” Tyson began with in a lengthy multi-thread post on X (Twitter).
“It was not my intent,” Tyson added.
“Seeing recent events we’ve mutually decided it’s best I permanently step away from all things MrBeast and social media to focus on my family and mental health.”
Tyson continued: “I want to add, I never groomed anyone.”
“The person who gets brought up in these accusations @LavaGS has vocally supported that they are false.”
“Having said that, I humbly apologise to anyone I have hurt with my unacceptable social media posts, past actions, and to those who may feel betrayed by how I used to act online.”
“To lump these two factors together to create a narrative that my behavior extended beyond bad edgy jokes is disgusting and did not happen,” Tyson said.
“In past years, I have learned that my old humor is not acceptable. I cannot change who I was, but I can continue to work on myself”
Tyson concluded the multi-threaded statement: “I don’t want these accusations to impact the hundreds of people who work at MrBeast, which is why I have stepped away”
As of writing, it appears that Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast has yet to address Tyson’s departure.
This marks the second instance of a famous and high-profile content creator being hit with similar allegations in the past month or so alone.
Just last month, popular streamer Dr DisRespect admitted to sending messages to a minor in 2017, which unshrouded the secret behind his mystery ban from Twitch several years ago.
