DC Studios’s Superman reboot has received an exciting update.
James Gunn recently confirmed that filming for Superman has officially wrapped, nearly eleven months ahead of its July 2025 release.
Starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent aka Superman with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Superman will kickstart the new DC Universe era.
Gunn shared the news alongside a photo taken on the film’s Norway set. (imager further down the article)
In the picture, he’s joined by Peter Safran, David Corenswet, and other members of the cast and crew.
Gunn wrote: “And that’s a wrap.”
“God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life. I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much.”

Although the plot details of the film remain slim, the Superman reboot will explore Clark Kent’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing in Smallville, Kansas.
As a young journalist for the Daily Planet in Metropolis, Superman embodies truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sometimes views kindness as old-fashioned.
The film won’t be an origin story, but rather a fresh take on the iconic character’s struggles and identity.
In addition to David Corenswet as Superman, the star-studded cast of Superman includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica / The Engineer.
Additionally, Isabela Merced is cast as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt aka Mr. Terrific.
James Gunn’s Superman is set to storm into theaters on July 11, 2025.
