Two men have been charged after police busted what they claim is a drug ring run out of an immigration detention centre.
Officers alleged they found two kilograms of methylamphetamine and $169,000 in cash linked to the syndicate during the search.
They also found three mobile phones.
The 49-year-old was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug, supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drug and direct criminal group.
Police allege he was using an encrypted message service to deal large amounts of methylamphetamine around Sydney.
The man allegedly had established a network of runners outside the detention centre, who he coordinated and tasked to carry out drug deals.
Then on Wednesday morning this week, strict force detectives with help from the Public Order and Riot Squad executed a search warrant at a Liverpool address.
During the search, police allegedly found 750 grams of methylamphetamine and 90 grams of heroin in a toilet bowl, in what was an an attempt to flush away the drugs.
Ninety more grams of heroin were allegedly found on the bathroom floor.
Police also located and seized $325,000 in cash and a Dedicated Encrypted Criminal Communication Device.
A 24-year-old was arrested and charged with a range of offences.
Police said the younger man was a runner for the older man in detention.
