A 28-year-old mother-of-two has been killed in a stabbing attack in Ipswich, Queensland.

The body of Kierra-Lea Jensen was found at her Leichhardt home about 9.15am today when police went to do a welfare check after being contacted by a relative.

Her partner, Kitchel Shillingsworth, 38, has been charged with murder after he was arrested following a police pursuit.

Kitchell Shillingsworth wasn’t there when officers arrived.

Instead he allegedly led them on a chase until his car’s tyres were spiked at Ipswich Boonah Road at Peak Crossing.

Detective Acting Superintendent Garry Watts said the couple had been in a de facto relationship.

Police confirmed they were called to the property only last week.

“No offences were detected, an investigation conducted but no action taken,” Watts said.

“We are looking for a knife involved in this incident.

“Our hearts go out to all involved in this tragedy, especially the family of the victim.

“And also we are offering support to the first responders who attended the scene and were faced with a very traumatic situation.

“Everyone has a right to feel safe and live in a safe environment, and we urge anybody if they are suffering any types of domestic and family violence to reach out to the appropriate support agencies and request assistance.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Shillingsworth will face Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.
