Police are investigating after a car rental business on the Gold Coast went up in flames in the early hours of the morning.

Police were called to the business at the intersection of Ashmore and Bundall Roads in Bundall about 6.45am.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

While the fire was extinguished, police said the business and a luxury Mercedes were extensively damaged.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Police have established a crime scene while the investigate the cause of the fire.

Road diversions were put in place with police directing drivers to avoid the fire.
