Two teenagers have been charged following an alleged police pursuit in Sydney’s north yesterday.

Officers spotted a Toyota Camry allegedly speeding on Pittwater Road in Dee Why at 8.30pm yesterday.

A pursuit was initiated when the car allegedly refused to stop for police, before it crashed into a Toyota ute at the Dee Why beach car park.

The driver and two passengers allegedly tried to flee on foot, however, police caught up to them, arresting a 19-year-old male and a 16-year-old male.

Police allege the 16-year-old tried to resist arrest and flee the scene before being arrested a second time.

A 21-year-old man was arrested nearby a short time later, but was released without charge.

The 19-year-old was charged with police pursuit, driving in a dangerous manner, proceeding through red light, driving while unlicensed and breach of bail.

The 16-year-old was charged with hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.

Both teenagers were refused bail and appeared in court today.
