The job advert to take over as the new manager of the England team lays out the desire for a candidate who can win a major tournament.

The Football Association (FA) are on the hunt for their first new men’s manager since 2016, with Gareth Southgate stepping down as boss following his side’s Euro 2024 final defeat by Spain.

Southgate took over in 2016, leading his side to two European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final, but failed to deliver a first major trophy since 1966.

The FA are said to have already identified some candidates to take over the role, but an advert has now been shared, inviting coaches to apply to be the new leader of the Three Lions.

Three main objectives are listed in the advert, which wastes no time telling potential candidates that they are to lead the team to a major tournament victory.
